Help shape an open standard

ODES is developed in the open and is stronger with more issuers, relying parties, and implementers at the table. Pick the path that fits where you are.

How to talk about it

Claim it accurately

If you write or speak about ODES, state the invention clearly and keep the scope precise. ODES is a portable decision-evidence record format for AI-influenced decisions that cross boundaries. It treats decisions as governed artifacts rather than bare outcomes, but it is not a complete governance stack, and a valid record does not by itself prove a decision was correct or compliant.

Safe to say

  • A candidate open standard for portable decision evidence
  • A decision-evidence container: coordinates, not conclusions
  • A portable governance envelope for AI-influenced decisions
  • Complementary to GRC, AIBOMs, and provenance tools
  • A discussion draft for public review, not a finalized standard

Avoid saying

  • It proves a decision is correct or lawful
  • It replaces legal, audit, or regulatory review
  • It's a full AI governance platform or silver bullet
  • It has been adopted or recognized by regulators or standards bodies
